Wolfforth Fire Academy is a professional firefighter training academy comprised of dedicated and experienced instructors.
An Exciting History
Wolfforth Fire Academy was founded in 2002 to bring exceptional firefghter and related training to our region of the U.S. and into West Texas. Our programs have been recognized as among the nation's best, incorporating a solid curriculum taught by highly experienced career firefighters and instructors who embrace student welfare.
The Wolfforth Fire Academy is governed by Lubbock Fire Educators, Inc., a non-profit oversight organization. In its earliest incarnations, Wolfforth Fire Academy had close operational ties to the City of Wolfforth fire department, and the two operations shared expertise and apparatus. In the time since, Wolfforth Fire Academy has continued to grow and today focuses solely on the education of future firefighters, EMTs and HAZMAT specialists.

Highly Experienced Instructors
Wolfforth Fire Academy has the good fortune that our instructors are the best in the business. They each have long-term experience in the field as firefighters. They understand the real world challenges of the profession, and impart their considerable knowledge to all academy students.
Our instructors stay abreast of developments in techniques, strategies, and the evolution of firefighting apparatus. This keeps our program content and curriculum up to date and fresh. In addition, a founding principle of Wolfforth Fire Academy is that we invest in individual student mentoring, a characteristic we believe sets our Academy apart from others.
Focus on Student Competency
Our firefighter program is focused in imparting the skill set needed by professional firefighters or other first responders. Our seasoned staff play a crucial role in delivering a comprehensive firefighter training academy by leveraging their knowledge, skills, and real-world experience. They provide hands-on instruction in core competencies such as fire suppression techniques, emergency medical response, hazardous materials handling, rescue operations, and effective communication in high-pressure situations.
Through carefully devised practical drills, simulations, and classroom sessions, our Academy ensures trainees develop critical thinking, physical fitness, and teamwork skills, essential for navigating the complexities of firefighting. Our mentorship - a key component of our programs - fosters a learning environment that emphasizes safety, discipline, and proficiency, preparing future firefighters for the diverse challenges they will face in the field.
